Fabric bag for control units

Convenient storage for remote control units, always accessible, suitable for persons with disabilities

Description
Anders stores three remote control units in a custom-sewn fabric bag with clear plastic on top. The fabric bag is attached to the wheelchair on one of the short sides with a Velcro closure. On the other short side is a cord loop. When he needs to use one of the remote control units he places the fabric bag on his leg using the loop. Otherwise the fabric bag hangs down on the side (Photo 3). He uses a mouth stick (see associated tip) to press the remote control unit buttons (Photo 2).

Authors comments
The user steers his electric wheelchair with Drivelink, a steering system from Permobil that can be used both to control the wheelchair and as an environmental control system. He is not satisfied with the environmental control system in the drive link. He feels that there are many functions he does not need and that the functions he wants to have do not work. Therefore he uses other remote control units to control his environment.
