Modified highchair

A seat from a highchair installed on a frame on castors – suitable for parents with disabilities who have young children

Description
A seat from the Ikea highchair Antilop was installed on a frame with castors. The height of the frame is adjustable and it has an electric brake. Initially, the frame was part of an assistive device for children.

Authors comments
The chair has been very useful, but if I were to do it over I would have chosen a top portion where the highchair seat could be opened. The way it is now, my child has to help out when being lifted in and out at each meal.

Manufacturer
The chair was assembled by the assistive technology center in Borås, Sweden.

Purchased from
Antilop highchair from Ikea, www.ikea.com (last checked April 2017).
