Custom-designed kitchen

Custom-designed kitchen for a person who uses a wheelchair

Description
The user planned and designed the kitchen himself. The kitchen has a counter, three tall cabinets that contain a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, and pantry (see associated tips). The kitchen also has a dining area.
The microwave is at an appropriate height for the user, but the oven is on top and is too high for him. He does not use it alone.
The user chose not to have upper cabinets. The kitchen is designed so that the user reaches everything he needs. Less important items are stored higher up.

Authors comments
The user is extremely satisfied with his kitchen. It was important to him that it should not look like it was designed for people with disabilities. The user enjoys being able to prepare food himself.
