The operator owns a dog and pays for supplies, veterinarian bills, etc. The Swedish Service- and Hearingdog Association pays for the training. The training program trains the person with a disability so she\/he can train her own dog to help in daily life activities. The dog\u2019s characteristics and the handler\u2019s need for assistance will govern the choice.<\/p>\n<p>Choosing a dog is highly individual, depending on the person\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>By training a dog, people expand their own horizons too. Dogs have a lot to teach people.
