By opening up the wall above the bathroom door Anders can transfer from the bed directly to the bathtub using a ceiling lift

A track runs across the ceiling from the bed to the tub. Above the bathroom door is an opening in the wall so that the track for the ceiling lift and the lift motor can go directly from the bed to the tub.

The Beram ceiling lift is no longer available. Today similar ceiling lifts are available from hill-rom.com. Their Multirall™ 200 overhead lift system is a portable overhead lift that can also be used for room-to-room transfers, without an openintg in the wall. (last checked April 2020).
