A welded plate hood sits on a metal bar. For travel, the user puts the hood on the joystick for protection when the wheelchair is transported in a plane. The metal bar fits in the wheelchair’s existing holder. The user has taped a carton to the hood for additional protection.

Users comments
The user is very satisfied with the solution. Before he had the modification he worried before each trip that the wheelchair joystick would break.
