These gloves were custom-designed for the user. The leather gloves are shaped to fit the user’s hand. They go over the wrist to stabilize it. Velcro straps hold the gloves in place. Key rings are sewn in the Velcro strap to make it easier for the user to put on the gloves unassisted. Rubber material is sewn on to allow a good grip of the wheelchair’s grip rings.

In Stockholm the wheelchair gloves are made by the orthopedic technical center with a referral from an orthopedist (last checked May 2020).

Tipsare: Bruno

Bruno lives in an apartment and is working part time. He was injured in 1974 and has a tetraplegia (C5-6). Through hand surgery in 1977 his grip function improved. He has personal assistance 7 hours a day and some help at night provided by the local government.
