The user’s electric wheelchair (Permobil C 500) is modified with a built-in sliding board and removable leg support. The leg support sits against the outside of the leg to prevent the legs from sliding apart. The sliding board is screwed onto the side of the wheelchair at the same height as the seat cushion. The sliding board does not make the wheelchair broader. When the user transfers, she folds the side support up and removes the leg support. To have the right seat height for the transfer she uses the wheelchair seat lift.
