Technique: The user, who is already sitting in the car, first places the
wheelchair cushion in the car on the seat next to him. Next he pulls the
wheelchair toward him (the back toward the driver’s door) and folds down
the backrest. He turns the wheelchair so that the front wheels are
facing the driver’s door. He tilts the wheelchair on the foot bar and
removes the pushrims one at a time by turning the pushrim toward him. He

over and places it on the passenger seat. To make room to lift the
wheelchair in front of him he folds down the backrest of the driver’s
seat in the car.
