A wheelchair cushion that prevents decubitus ulcers – suitable for persons who lack sensation

Description
A light seat cushion made of perforated cells in a honeycomb structure that allows air to circulate through the cushion and also wicks moisture. It is easy to keep clean and can be machine washed and dried.
The cushion is 6 cm high.

One version is available that is contoured to the body (StimuLITE Contour), see photo 3. The contoured seat has a pressure equalizing area to surround the sitting bones and tailbone as well as thigh support and leg separators for good positioning.

One advantage of the cushion is that it cannot break without the user noticing it. Some anti-decubitus cushions are filled with air. It may be difficult for someone who does not have any sensation to notice if the cushion breaks.
