Wheelchair with wide wheels can be driven on the beach without sinking into the sand and tolerates chlorine and salt water.

Various models of beach wheelchairs can be rented at some beaches in Sweden, such as Halmstad’s Handikappbad Östra Strand and Stora Sköndalsbadet in Stockholm.

One model is the Hippocampe from Vipamat, which is foldable and can be taken along when traveling on vacation. The Hippocampe is also available with a skid solution for use in winter see vipamat.com (last checked January 2021).

The wheelchair in photo far below has pontoons and can float in the water.

Another possibility is ‘Freedom Trax’, se freedomtrax-europe.com (last checked January 2021).
