Attaching wheelchair and seat belt in modified car

Modifications that make it safe for a person with disabilities to drive while seated in a manual wheelchair
Mounting plate
Mounting plate

The car has a mounting plate that can be raised under the wheelchair by pushing a button and locked into a tube that sits on the chair.  An extra backrest and headrest sit behind the driver’s seat that can be turned inward with a touch of the button behind the user, when she is sitting in place. The control buttons for attaching and for the extra backrest and headrest are located on the car’s left side panel, see related tip.
The seat belt is always buckled and suspended so that the user only needs to slide in under it and it sits appropriately.
