Use of arm cycle outdoors

Arm cycle that allows cycling for training purposes for people with disabilities

User cycling(video)

The hand bike is an exercise bike with 27 gears. His feet are placed on footrests next to the front wheels.

Model name Quickie Shark

Users comments
The bike works well for users with good trunk balance. When seated, trunk strength can also be used for cycling. Users with poor or no trunk balance can sit leaning backwards more or they can recline (see photo 2).
When competing in races, the user lies down on the bicycle to reduce air resistance.
The disadvantage of the arm cycle is that you can’t bring your wheelchair along.

Usually in summer you can borrow and try out different models of hand bikes at Rehab Station Stockholm. (Arranged by the Swedish Cycling Federation in collaboration with Rehab Station Stockholm).
